What do you need to know about taking the test?
The EndoPAT® test:
You will be situated comfortably and your blood flow pulsation
will be measured non-invasively through the use of two thimble-like fingertip probes — one on each hand.
After a 5-minute recording at rest, a blood pressure cuff will be inflated on one arm for an additional 5 minutes.
Comparing blood pulsation values before and after the cuff inflation allows an assessment of your endothelial function.
The day of the test:
You will be asked to take your normal medications, avoid eating for at least 4 hours prior to the test as well
as avoid drinking coffee, tea, soft drinks containing caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, or orange juice.
Water is fine any time.
